Welcome to the Irish Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers web site.
Our Guild is a voluntary organisation of around 100 members from all over Ireland, we cater for everyone with an interest in these areas of the textile crafts from total beginners through to professionals.
Our aims are:
- To promote and encourage the crafts of Weaving, Spinning & Dyeing
- To educate through workshops, lectures and demonstrations
- To compile a library and information on materials and equipment
We fulfill these aims by:
- Organising demonstrations and exhibitions and workshops
- Meeting in regional groups
- Producing a regular newsletter
- Having representation on national bodies
- Supporting educational initiatives
- Continually updating our information on suppliers and courses
Membership
The Irish Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers are always keen to welcome new members at any level.
Beginners will find lots of information about how and where to get started and for those at more advanced stages there are many opportunities within the Guild to pursue their interests further.
There are a number of regional groups around the country who meet regularly.

The Guild offers support and encouragement to weavers, spinners and dyers at all stages and for those at a professional level we give a voice and a platform to speak on your behalf at national level.
Members can put their profile up on this site and have their work included in the gallery section.
All members receive regular newsletters with current information about what is happening both at home and abroad, including exhibitions, competitions, courses, news and reviews, and our buy and sell section.
We also circulate a comprehensive list of suppliers with everything you might need, from spinning wheels to fleeces, yarns, dyes, weaving looms and lots more.
